We understand the difficulty you may face in finding public transportation from Lombok to Labuan Jambu Village, so we have put together this tour.
This creature are easier to find at 6 am early morning when the fisherman of BAGAN BOAT lift their nets at that time.
A flock of Whale Sharks will appear because along with the net being lifted, there be lots of planktons. Plankton is the food of Whale Shark!
Sumbawa Whale Shark Tour Itinerary (Start & Finish Lombok)
Day 1: Overland Lombok – Sumbawa
10.00 You will be picked up at Lombok Airport/Mataram City/Senggigi Area, then head to Kayangan Port, East Lombok
12.00 Arrive at Kayangan Port then cross to Poto Tano Port
14.00 Arrive at Poto Tano Port, than continue road trip to Labuan Jambu Village for next 5 hours
20.00 Arrive in Labuan Jambu Village, check in hotel and take a rest
Day 2: Snorkeling With Whale Shark – Transfer Out To Lombok (B)
03.30 Morning call at your hotel, then use a traditional boat to the Saleh Bay Area
05.30 Arrival at a floating fishing platform with strong lights (bagan), and looking for the bagan that have The Whale Sharks
06.00 It’s time to snorkeling and swim with the whale sharks (breakfast on the boat)
08.00 Back to Labuan Jambu Village
10.00 Arrival at Labuan Jambu then take a rest for moment and go back to Poto Tano Port
15.00 Arrive at Poto Tano Port then cross to Kayangan Port
17.00 Arrive at Kayangan Port, East Lombok, and we will drop you off to your hotel in Lombok at Mataram City/Senggigi Area
19.00 Arrive at your hotel, end of program
- As we cannot control the Mother Nature, and due to sea condition on the tour day that might happen and you can’t see the whale shark. Therefore, we only return your payment IDR 1.000.000 from your total payment

Whale Shark Tour FAQ
When is the best time to see Whale Sharks?
Whale sharks can be seen only around the “New Moon” dates. When the moon is bright, whale sharks are going all over the ocean to find breakfast. During the dark moon, they come to floating fishing platforms that have strong lights at night attracting plankton and fish that whale sharks love for breakfast. Please contact us to plan your trip at the right time
Can i touch the Whale Sharks?
No. Amongst other reasons, it is a protected marine species and its skin is covered in a sensitive mucus membrane and should not be touched (thank you!)
Can i snorkel?
Yes. This is the best way to interact with this amazing animal
What equipment do i need?
We provide all the equipment you need (snorkel, mask and fins), but feel free to bring your own
We also suggest bringing ear plugs because of the loud sound of the boat’s engine that will be used to go to the Whale Shark location (tourism is not yet developed so that the facilities and infrastructure are still quite minimal)
Is there an age limit?
This Excursion is for families and children over 6 years old. Children must be able to swim/ snorkel

- Edited photo and/or video will be sent via Google Drive 3 – 4 days after the trip is completed

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation up to 3 days before the event will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the total price
- Cancellation 1 day before or on the day of the event, the deposit is non-refundable
- No-show on the day of the event, with or without prior cancellation, the money is non-refundable
- The guide reserves the right to cancel or change the schedule/itinerary in case of force majeure (bad weather, natural disasters, war, or other events beyond the control of the field crew that could endanger participants or crew)
- Changes or cancellations of the schedule/itinerary due to force majeure are non-refundable
